Talking Therapy approaches can be offered as standalone sessions or as a powerful combination therapy. The approaches, in conjunction, might be seen as a three pronged plan of action or a sanctuary success triangle (SST)™ addressing stress alleviation, structure and serenity of mind.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or CBT is a talking therapy that is based on the exploration of current thoughts, feelings, emotions and behaviours. CBT works on the notion that unwanted thought patterns and processes are interlinked with and influenced by a rigid set of core beliefs. CBT allows for a collaboration between therapist and client to ensure that negative thought patterns are broken down, disrupting a habitual cycle and, in time, re-structuring core belief systems. CBT is an empirically validated and powerful tool for addressing stress related psychological burnout and challenging the negative thought processes associated with a reduction in output and performance level.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

Neuro-LInguistic programing, or NLP might be best described as an instruction manual for human excellence in structure and performance. In its essence, it encourages the individual to use the five sensory channels, alongside verbal and non verbal communication skills, tailored to best suit themselves and others around them. NLP channels the notion that the immediate structure or approach is simply a smaller part of a much wider picture.

MCBT

Mindfulness based cognitive therapy is an effective combination of mindfulness based practice and cognitive behavioural therapy.

Mindfulness is the practice of the heightened awareness of oneself in their present state. Such an awareness will allow the individual to focus solely on the moment and, with continued effort, stop their thoughts from continually shifting to the past or future. This state of mindfulness will allow the individual to exist in a calm mental environment, free from judgement and either carried or predicted stress. MBCT builds from the empirical foundations of CBT to add an extra mental edge for the present moment. The art of calming the mind is one that many of us benefit from and an essential tool in the reduction of psychological burnout in the workplace and improved performance through mental clarity in both the workplace and sports setting.
